FIRST INTERNATIONAL SHORT STORY COMPETITION “Villains” 2019

Prize: One million Colombian Pesos (approx. $315 USD) to the winner and publication of that short story and the four runners-up in the forthcoming volume of Mitos Magazín.

Mitos Magazín is organizing its first international short-story competition around the theme of “Villains”. Participation in the competition is subject to the following terms:
Participation is open to writers of any age and any nationality. Entries should be at most 2500 words in length. Entered short stories must feature at least one villain. Short stories may be submitted in any of the languages of the Americas.
The winning entry will receive a prize of one million Colombian pesos. That entry and the four runners-up will be published in the next edition of Mitos Magazín.
Those interested in entering the competition must sent their entries to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before the twenty-fifth of February of 2019.
All entries will be read.
The judging panel is comprised of the following writers: Vanessa Gubbins, James Rumsey-Merlan, Laura Steiner and Camila Vélez Valencia.
The prizegiving will take place in Bogotá, Colombia on the 15th of March, 2019. Winners will be notified by e-mail and results will be announced in a variety of media.
Entrants in the competition give rights of publication (though not exclusive rights) to Mitos Magazín. Stories may be reprinted online or in print.
By participating, participants in the competition are giving their express agreement to all of the terms outlined here. A prize will be awarded.
